Hi, my name is Roger Custodio. I retired from US Air Force as E-7 with 20 years of service in December 2001. I have been doing wood works as a hobby since I was in my early teens in thePhilippines. I didn’t start making shadow boxes until 1996… when my boss retired and was presented a 3′ x 5′ flag in a Flag Box purchased from a local supplier.
The flag box he was given at his retirement luncheon was of such poor quality that I decided to make the next retiring person from our shop a Shadow Box. When the next person retired and was presented with the Shadow Box that I made out of Poplar wood, two other individuals ordered the same box and several others suggested that I start making it on the side.
Since then, I’ve been making display cases for customers in the local area and have started shipping them nationwide and to US military bases around the world. I no longer use Poplar wood, but have made my boxes available in Maple, Oak, Cherry, Mahogany, and Walnut.
Here are just a few samples of my work.
Custom holders and boxes can also be ordered and are viewable in the pages of samples.
